Introduction:With the growth in the global entertainment and media industry, many Internet companies are making efforts to capitalize on the new opportunities offered by the increasingly digital and personalized entertainment business. Yahoo!, a premier global Internet brand, providing services like e-mail, online chat and other host of services, formed The Yahoo! Media Group in January 2005. It included Yahoo! Music, Yahoo! News, Yahoo! Finance, and Yahoo! Movies. Under the leadership of Lloyd Braun (Braun), head of the Yahoo! Media Group, the media group launched a series of reality shows on the Internet like The Runner and Wow House but shelved them later due to a decline in viewership. As Yahoo!'s Media Group is facing a stiff competition from AOL (America Online), MSN (Microsoft Network) and Google in online media business, analysts are skeptical about Braun's success in enabling Yahoo! to create the experience of television on the Internet.
